We love white blends and were thrilled to find this gem from coastal Central California. Three vibrant white grapes create a fresh and interesting wine that will accompany many holiday meals.
Reminiscent of both Alsace and Rhone whites, Triptych white is fresh on the palette while filling one’s senses with minerality and understated fruit.
Pinot Gris is so-named for its subtle gray tint (“gris” is “gray” in French, “grigio” is “gray” in Italian). Yet the semi-transparent tint of this wine is seen not so much in its core as it is in the rich legs born of three grapes (Viognier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris).
Exotic armoas with suble notes of apricot and guava from the Viognier, floral hints from the Pinot Gris, and light oak from the Chardonnay.
Full viscosity balanced with a delicate freshness.
The Chardonnay’s soft, rich minerality blends with the earthiness of the two blends. Maintains fruit flavors and delicate acidity, making it perfect partner for seafood and light meat dishes.
A light and elegant finish with long-sustained fruit that gradually yields to a lingering minerality.
What the Winery Says
Tasting Notes This wine is an uncommon blend of varieties, each with its own distinct ‘personality’. Each component contributes with its unique signature quality. Viognier, with its ripe, tropical fruit flavors (bananas and guava) dominates the aroma while the Pinot Gris imparts a more floral, estery character, The lightly oaked Chardonnay binds them together providing a touch of drying tannin. On the palate, the wine is rich and soft. There is a ‘fleshy’ character that is both mouth-filling and lingering. The natural acidity is low enough to maintain the wine’s soft appeal but present enough to ensure the wine remains fresh. All the fruit was harvested from our estate vineyards on the Central Coast of California and reductive winemaking techniques are employed to guarantee the preservation of the more subtle fruit characters and aromas. A great wine for a whole range of foods from salads to seafood and chicken to chili.
