Final Assessment
There is more to this wine than originally meets the eye! A little shy if sampled right out of the chiller, allow this wine to warm just a little and it really springs to life, revealing additional fruit and complexity.
This lovely Vermentino displays characteristics that are similar to a Sauvignon Blanc, but without any of the grassiness or (eek!) litter box character than can plague Sauv Blanc. Instead, this wine shows finely balanced fruit and a lovely, long finish.
Born in the famous *Camp 4 Vineyard, a mostly-Syrah Vineyard that has consistently produced high-scoring wines, today’s wine has some very interesting and very serious pedigree.
Pair this delicious wine with a citrus-dressed arugula salad with fruits, walnuts and goat cheese.
Tasting Profile
Light golden yellow and perfectly clear with just the slightest hint of green at the edges. After spinning the wine, it settles quickly, leaving behind tightly spaced legs that rocket down the glass.
Gentle aromas of fresh cut grass, Meyer lemon rind, dried yellow hay bale, sweet honeysuckle and a subtle herbal note the emerges as the wine warms.
Soft on entry, with a light to medium weight across the mid-palate.
Flavors of mixed citrus, especially blood orange, with hints of pear, pineapple, violet and lemongrass.
Plush and very gradually drying. Lasting flavors of pear, pineapple and key lime persist through to the end.

About the Winery
In the summer of 2004, following graduation from high school, Tessa began her winemaking career by working in her family’s tasting room. At the age of 18, still too young to actually taste the wines that were being poured, she would smell them and describe their aromatics using the descriptive words she had so frequently heard there. Curious about the process of crafting fine wine, and armed with determination, she enrolled in the Enology and Viticulture program at Allan Hancock College.
It was during that first semester, as she attended school and worked harvest at a local winery, that Tessa discovered Sangiovese. Instantly this variety captured Tessa’s attention. With its food-friendly character, forward fruit and ageablity, Sangiovese would become the cornerstone of Tessa’s winemaking efforts. Shortly after this revelation, the Tessa Marie label was born and a new winemaking career began.
Today, with four harvests under her belt, Tessa continues to perfect her winemaking techniques and has expanded her portfolio to include several new varieties in her all Italian lineup. Sangiovese however, remains the hallmark of the program and always will!
