The Wine Spies, LLC Announce Strategic Alliance with Napa Valley Vintners

New Partnership Helps Napa Valley Wineries Sell More Wine While Supporting Local Charities

May 21, 2008 – Napa Valley, CA - Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), the non-profit trade association representing more than 300 Napa Valley wineries, and The Wine Spies, LLC, a unique online wine retailer, today announced a strategic partnership to benefit both NVV’s mission to promote the Napa Valley Appellation and raise funds for local charitable causes. Every Thursday, beginning today, The Wine Spies will feature one exceptional wine from a Napa Valley Vintners member winery at www.thewinespies.com. A portion of proceeds from select sales will benefit NVV’s annual community fundraiser, Auction Napa Valley, the charity event that has given nearly $78 million since 1981 to a host of non-profits in Napa County.

Wine Spies founding partner, Jason Seeber (“Agent Red” as he’s known in the wine trade), says, “The Wine Spies feature one exceptional wine each day at thewinespies.com and we are very proud to dedicate each Thursday to showcasing an NVV member winery. We are pleased to be able to support NVV in its efforts to shine a spotlight on the Napa Valley – while also helping to raise funds for our community.”

To kick off the new partnership, The Wine Spies will feature several Napa Valley wineries in May, including Levendi Winery, Merryvale Vineyards, Silver Oak Cellars, Judd’s Hill, Bourassa and other fine wineries. Heather Taber of Levendi, says, “Levendi is thrilled to be the inaugural Napa Valley winery for this exciting partnership. The Wine Spies represent a great consumer direct channel for our wines and since they only feature wines that they love, their reviews are always very positive. The fact that we can also contribute to NVV’s charitable causes is the icing on the cake.”

About the NVV

Now in its seventh decade, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) non-profit trade association is the sole organization responsible for promoting and protecting the Napa Valley Appellation as a winegrowing region second to none in the world. Respect for the region’s history reinforces the commitment to the preservation and enhancement of the Valley’s land, wine, and community for future generations. The association addresses the shared interests of more than 300 member wineries and aspires to be the essential organization for all Napa Valley vintners.
