First planted in 1872 by Swiss-Italian immigrants, Sorenson Vineyard has served as the beating heart of Burgess for more than 150 years. Climbing 800-1000 feet above sea level, this vineyard is carved into the western-facing slopes of Howell Mountain, overlooking the Napa Valley below. The landscape is dotted with large boulders on the “Konocti Series Volcanics” soil, a very densely compacted volcanic ash, as pines and redwoods surround the vineyard, becoming immersed in morning fog during the harvest months.

Produced from the oldest vines in our Sorenson Vineyard, this Cabernet Sauvignon had a near-perfect growing season. Flavors of caramelized blackberry and dried black plums are complemented by earthy aromas of cedar, baking spices, savory aromatics of rosemary, thyme, and a subtle dash of mint.
