2010 Bewitched Pinot Noir
California: Russian River Valley (Sonoma)
Trick or Treat
Our beloved featured winemaker, Virginia Marie Lambrix, certainly used her witchcraft when brewing this enchanting 2010 Bewitched Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. This recently-released wine comes with a mysterious wine wrap that provides a lovely cloak - while providing advice on food pairings and telling the chilling story of Bewitched wines.
Inside the captivating packaging is a fantastic wine that will not disappoint our Pinot Noir fans. This classic, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir exhibits bright and luscious red cherry fruit with a silky smooth medium body. At today’s hair-raising price, the value and quality of this wine makes a wine that even a Zombie would choose.
The spell has been cast and we are smitten with this magical flavor-packed Pinot Noir. On Halloween night, we will be pairing this wine with a roasted leg of lamb marinated with fresh garlic and rosemary. Will we mix in a little eye of newt? You may never know…
We highly recommend you stock up on this crowd pleasing Russian River Valley wine and serve it at your upcoming Halloween gala. Your order will reach you before your spook-infested festivities.
A light ruby-hued center fades into soft, pinkish, luminous edges. After giving the wine a swirl, tall, lean legs begin to descend gradually down the glass.
Bewitching aromas of indulgent dark fruits, with blackberry and plum - with a trace of vanilla oak spice. Undertones of anise, baking spices, dried currants, and violets follow. After the wine has had time to breath, it reveals lavish notes of caramel and maraschino cherry.
Smooth yet complex, this flavor packed Pinot Noir shows bright red fruits up front, with prominent, rich strawberry and cherry. As it crosses the mid-palate, the pleasantly bright acidity bursts through with a note of luscious vanilla bean. As the wine sits and opens up, the flavors mentioned become more intense with each sip.
Somewhat dry, with a final push of bright, succulent red fruits that dwindle to spice. With further swirling, the finish becomes ultra-smooth, taming the soft silky tannins.

About the Winery
Truett Hurst is nestled in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, creating world class wines from the special 26 acre haven. Visit Truett Hurst and enjoy our tasting room made of eco-friendly materials, Coho salmon swimming in the creek, sheep grazing in the vineyards, beneficial insect habitat, and our big and bold Zinfandels.
While the formation of the Truett Hurst partnership began in November of 2007, the founding partners worked together at Fetzer Winery years before. At that time, Paul Dolan was Director of Winemaking and hired Phil Hurst, fresh from UC Davis, to work as one of the winemakers. Years later, Phil would hire Paul’s son, Heath, right out of college to work for him. Thirty years after that first meeting, Paul, Heath, Phil and Sylvia Hurst formed a partnership in the Dry Creek Valley. Their vision: create world class wines using biodynamic farming principles. To complete that vision, Mark De Meulanaere and winemaker, Virginia Lambrix were brought in.
The story really begins in the vineyard, where we source fruit from the best hillside, old vine vineyards in Dry Creek. The style of wine, be it spicy and bold, or fruit driven and elegant, is dictated by the vineyard. Understanding this and allowing for the authentic translation of its terroir is paramount for making unforgettable wines. Small, open top fermentations, mixing the cap gently with punch downs and selection of only the best French and American oak are only part of the care that go into handcrafting our wines.
