2012 L'Ermitage Sauvignon Bordeaux
Francophiles, rejoice! Today’s Maitres Vignerons 2012 L’Ermitage Sauvignon Bordeaux is a fresh, delightful and delicious treat for fans of French white wines - and white wine fans, in general.
Today’s wine is very elegant and well-balanced. Our tasting panel was quite smitten with this sublime blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon. We all agreed that while this white Bordeaux is a lovely ‘porch wine’, it would also find itself quite at home on the holiday table. We’ll enjoy ours with turkey and trimmings.
Flavors and feel are perfect and the the finish is ultra long and lovely. At just $16.99, today’s wine is a tremendous value.
A very pale and perfectly clear wine that coats the glass after you spin it.
Lovely and fresh with lemongrass, young Asian pear, yellow apple, fresh green fig, underripe pineapple, pear blossom and subtle orange peel.
Fresh and bright and very different on the palate than the nose would indicate, this wine leads with citrus peel, yellow grapefruit, Meyer lemon, pineapple - and follows with almond, dried apricot and subtle orange blossom tea.
Very long. Viscous and very lush, with mouth-coating flavors that gradually tail off to a lovely brightness.
Prosciutto-wrapped asparagus would be a most divine pairing with this fresh and bright white wine.
