Another new planting for the McGah vineyard is Petite Sirah which is also a rarity in Rutherford. True to the varietal, the color of this wine can only be described as black which tells you immediately that it means business. Persistent and densely rich on the mid palate, a hallmark of Petite Sirah allows the bright and ample acidity to bring all these wild characsteristics together into a hedonistic and staining finish. Decant this big boy for a few hours if you consume it on release or lay it down for 5-10 years to allow the earthy components to emerge.
