Vitus Napa Valley
2009 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
California: Oakville (Napa)
Today, we are blown away by Vitus Napa Valley’s ability to keep producing vintage after vintage of extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon. We have loved every vintage we’ve tasted and today’s 2009 really shines.
Elegant, richly layered and plush with tons of rich fruit, earth and subtle spice, today’s 2009 Vitus Napa Valley Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is not just a mouthful to say, it is a mouthful on the palate.
If you love classic, grand Napa Cabernet, we offer you this wine with our full recommendation.
Extra dark, with deepest ruby red hues from the edge of the glass through the dark core of the wine.
Very fragrant, with aromas that leap from the glass. Dark black cherry, spiced cherry candy, leather, tobacco, blackberry, black cherry, dried fall leaves and a hint of black pepper.
Mouthwatering and rich, with dark flavors of blackberry, black plum, leather, tobacco leaf, black cherry, dark chocolate, mixed dark spice, savory sage and slate.
Ultra long, with rich, dark flavors that sustain forever. Once the fruit fades, chocolate, spice and chocolate linger on even longer.
This big elegant wine wants to be served with something equal in scope.
Tournedos Au Poivre Et Champignons would be an incredible choice. Here is a great recipe

About the Winery
The name Vitus, comes from the word ‘viticulture,’ meaning the study of wine. We have adopted the patron St. Vitus to bless our good fortune and our wine. St. Vitus symbolizes good fortune, great wine and a gladdened heart. Vitus started as a mere passion by the Hearn Family and their friends in the Solano County area. Winemaker, John Gilpin, whom has a knack for blending, is excited to bring this exclusive wine to market.
